Aviation and art have been two main interests in Artist Jim Laurier’s life since he was very young. He attended Paier School of Art in Connecticut and remained on the Dean’s List for four years, graduating with honors in 1978.

After graduation, he began working in New York City illustrating science fiction magazines such as Creepy, Eerie, and 1984, many of which have now become cult classic items sought by collectors around the world.

Flying, along with art schooling, became part of Jim’s continuing education in his chosen vocation. Jim’s experience flying various aircraft has helped him immensely in his work, giving him a good understanding of flight dynamics and various atmospheric conditions, critical in creating realistic depictions of aviation scenes.

Jim’s artwork has made him one of the most recognizable military artists among many and he is considered to be one of the very best in the world. He has been contracted by top Hollywood movie studios, all branches of the U.S. Military, television companies, many authors, and some of the top Military contractors, such as Lockheed Martin Corp.
