Günther Rall, considered by many to be the finest fighter pilot in Germany’s Luftwaffe during World War II, became the world’s third highest scoring ace of all time with 275 victories. A master of deflection shooting, Rall himself was shot down on several occasions but would go on after the war to continue his stellar aviation career, ultimately commanding the new German Air Force until 1974.
This stunning drawing, reproduced from an original pencil work by John Shaw, is a study of the legendary Luftwaffe Ace Gunther Rall.
