Description

The fighting men of one the 101st Airborne’s most illustrious units – Easy Company from the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment – the famous Band of Brothers,  take inventory of their equipment during the early evening of 5 June 1944. Alongside them on the hard-standing of Upottery Airfield in Devon the C-47s of the 438th Troop Carrier Group with their hastily-applied invasion stripes, stand primed, ready to carry the elite unit to Normandy in the early hours of D-Day.

This poignant painting has been specially commissioned to honor the veterans who fought with one of the most famous Airborne Divisions in history – the US 101st.

To add to the poignancy of the release, the edition is personally signed by veterans who jumped on D-day with the 101st Airborne, creating a unique opportunity for collectors to cherish the memories of these brave and illustrious heroes.
