The epitome of the swashbuckling fighter Ace, Walter Krupinski was always in the thick of the action whether it was fighting the enemy or enjoying his riotous lifestyle.
 
He taught many young fighter pilots the art of aerial combat, including Erich Hartmann, and never lost a wingman in 1100 missions.
One of JG-52’s leading lights, he later led III./JG-26, throughout the Ardennes Offensive and finally joined Adolf Galland’s JV-44 Squadron of Experts flying the Me262 Jet Fighter.

One of the most legendary Aces of WWII, by the war’s end he had been wounded seven times, scored 197 aerial victories and was awarded the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves.
