During World War II the United States manufactured almost 98,000 bombers; Iconic aircraft such as the B-17, which flew in all theaters of the war and was instrumental in taking the air war to Nazi Germany from the airfields of England.

More B-24 Liberators were built than any other aircraft in WWII and the B-25 became legendary for its role in the Doolittle Raid. And of course, the B-29 was used to bring about the end of the War in the Pacific.
