Description
There were few sights back in the early 1940’s that stirred the emotions more than that of a Lancaster on final approach, its weary crew returning from combat over enemy territory.
In the midst of the harvest in the late summer of 1944, a Lancaster of the famous 617 “Dambusters” Squadron makes its final approach. After a grueling night operation over Germany the thankful crew are the last to return to their Lincolnshire base.
Gerald Coulson is a master at combining a stunning landscape with his aviation subjects and Summer Harvest is one of his best. This release is classic Coulson and a perfect example of why his fans have loyally collected his work for more than 35 years.
